I'm trying to figure out how to configure keyboard shortcuts to type accented vowels on my macbookpro 13' retina d. (late 2012?) bought in Boston, MA. (Os 10.8.4)
When i write in my motherlanguage (Italian) I constantly need to use characters such à è é ì ò ù
Starcraft 3 terran.
As far as now I found 2 solutions that are really too time consuming and not confortable at all:
Use keyboard shortcuts instead of mouse actions. Use key shortcuts to perform normal Windows tasks that would normally be done by using a mouse. Keyboard action. Open an app from the Start menu. Press the Windows key to open the Start menu (or screen) and then use the arrow keys to move through the menu. The one I’m currently using is my trusty pal MBP mid-2012 with a 256GB SSD. I use PS and AI on the daily. AE and PR is more occasional but I’m still looking for a machine that will perform good for these apps. Made a keyboard shortcut cheat sheet for my Mom for Christmas ??. MBP Keyboard equivalents for PC Keys? Not sure where to post this question (OSX or here) so here goes for starters. Are there standard MBP keyboard combinations that perform the functions of certain 101-key dedicated keys? Such as PageUp/Down, Home/End, (PC) CTRL+Home, CTRL+End, etc? But neither Panzer nor my opinions or experiences negate the opinions or experiences of people like Casey Johnston, writing for The Outline. A few months ago, I wrote about how my one-year-old MacBook Pro's keyboard keys stopped working if a single piece of dust slipped under there, and more importantly, that neither Apple nor its Geniuses would acknowledge that this was actually a problem. Hi, I've been working in Premiere on my MBP for years. For this next project I'm starting I've just purchased an external keyboard - with a numpad, to speed up my workflow assigning/using more shortcuts. But when I load up Premiere (latest CC version) it still only shows a standard keyboard.
1 - keep pressed the button until a little window pops up with several solution and then press the number I need eg. press 'a' and after window pops up type 1 >> that gives me à. This solution is far too slow when I'm writing.
2 - a default shortcut combination that requires 3 buttons: opt (option) + ` + a . This again is far too complicated for an intensive use.
I really don't want to buy an Italian keyboard and even then I could only use it at home.

Any ideas? I have a friend who bought his macbook pro 15' (2011) in Dublin, he uses a way more simple combination: e.g. opt + a = à and this works for all the vowels but if I try this one on my MBP I obtain å instead, that I definetely don't need for Italian.
Is there a way to manually set the keyboard shortcuts?
thanks anyone for help.
